AMATEUR DIARY · PICKLEPROGRESS
PLAY.
LEARN.
REPEAT.
I am an amateur player. I train, play tournaments and keep trying to improve. This space documents that side of pickleball: the decisions, mistakes, gear and lessons that show up when it is time to step on court.
The starting point
Why I’m starting an “Amateur Diary”
What I want to document, what I will not pretend, and how I will separate personal experience from research.
The part that normally does not fit in a guide.
What I am trying to improve
Specific goals, drills and changes worth tracking.
Competition changes things
Preparation, pressure, decisions and lessons that appear in competition.
What I actually use
Court feel and real usage, clearly separated from research-based comparisons.
What works and what does not
Without turning every session into a success story.
More useful when it is transparent.
What works for me will be presented as personal experience, not a rule for everyone.
When an experience depends on specific circumstances, I will explain them so you can judge what they mean.
Mistakes and poor decisions can be more useful than a perfect match report.
When a specific problem appears, I will link to the relevant technical guide or research page.
